The NEC-E develops innovative management strategies for dealing with harmful alien species. We do this by researching the effectiveness of (combinations of) capture techniques and by investing in projects aimed at the elimination of populations in the field.
We are actively involved in consultations with government regarding legislation and regulations with respect to the capture and elimination of invasive alien species, an area that is not yet clearly defined in legislation and management practice.
